Pebble Bay are delighted to be launching the first in a series of one-day seminars, designed specifically to enhance the existing skills and knowledge of embedded engineers.
Whether you are new to developing embedded software or need a refresher on how to directly interact with hardware devices, we will be able to brush up your skills and give you some useful, real-world hints and tips to take away with you.
Seminar Content
This brief overview of the content of the 2 sessions will give you an insight into the topics we’ll be covering, and will hopefully whet your appetite for the day itself!
Session 1: An Introduction to Embedded Software Development Using C
Outline:
This workshop introduces the fundamental principles of developing software for embedded systems, using the C programming language.
The aim of the session is to help developers who are unfamiliar with embedded systems quickly get to grips with the special techniques used to build and debug embedded software. It includes demonstrations using an embedded target system.
Session 2: An Introduction to Hardware Interfacing and Device Driver Development
Outline:
This workshop introduces the fundamental principles of interfacing with hardware in an embedded system, including an overview of device drivers. It discusses plenty of essential practical techniques along with traps for the unwary and how to avoid them.
The aim of the session is to de-mystify what can be considered a black art for those who have little or no experience of hardware interfacing. It includes demonstrations on an embedded target system.
